  • What is Ashiatsu?
In the Japanese language Ashiatsu translates to foot pressure. Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is using feet and gravity to provide a deep tissue, myofascial release and trigger point massage session while holding onto overhead support as the client lies comfortably on the massage table.
  • How do I schedule an appointment?
If you are a first time client you may contact me by email or calling. My contact information is located at the bottom of the home page. Please keep in mind I am with clients all day and may not have the opportunity to return your call or email until the following day.
  • Forms of payment?
I accept credit cards and checks from local banks.
  • Why do you have a screening process for new clients?
Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is not your average deep tissue treatment. Therefore it may not be the right course of treatment for everybody. There is a thorough health intake process for each client to ensure I best address your needs and make the proper modifications as needed. The majority of clients sail through the intake form without issue. There is a huge difference between using feet, body weight, and gravitational force than with a massage provided by hands. The deeper than deep compression coming from the broad surface of my feet causes immense changes in circulation of fluids through organs and the attachments on ALL the joints in the body.
  • What are the benefits of using your feet instead of your hands?
There are many health benefits from receiving Ashiatsu, such as: -Deep tissue massage without the pain -Pressure that engages connective tissue and loosening adhesions -Long continuous massage strokes stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system which induces deep relaxation -Improves circulation due to more surface compression -Broadens constricted muscles and helps bring them to their natural state -Reduces chronic pain -Broad pressure along the paraspinal muscles helps open intervertebral disc space, decreasing nerve irritation
  • Can you actually feel tight muscles and knots with your feet?
Yes, a million times yes! The majority of the time I can feel more with my feet than hands. The soles of feet contain more nerve endings per square centimeter than any other part of the body.
